Meat Inspection

And, in case you were wondering about those meat inspections, read
Consumers Union says USDA cut in Mad Cow testing puts public health at risk.

How about that? We're cutting mad cow inspections by 90%! Makes you feel ever so safe, doesn't it?

Lentil loaf, anyone?

There's always buffalo or lamb if you want the "other" red meats!

You've heard the saying "you can't find a fever if you don't take a temperature"? Well you can't find mad-cow if you don't run a test. Nobody will ever know how much mad-cow there is in the United States, and certain large cattle concerns aim to keep it that way.

USDA won't even *let* American meat-packers and ranchers do their own tests.

And I used to make lentil loaf! For company I still make turkey meatloaf. I use kosher turkey when possible. At least I know somebody paid attention while killing it.

Two excellent suggestions. Not beef, and kosher! Either will allow me to still eat red meat!

I remember when Hebrew National franks were advertised as having to answer to a higher power than the USDA. Loved it.
