Cats and children oft have found
My breast to be soft Granny mound.
And there they love to lay their heads
In lieu of going up to beds.
I love to hold them close and kiss
Each kitten mister, grandchild miss,
Each niece and nephew, I love them all,
And cuddle fondly as they grow tall.
I'm glad that I'm not spare and flat—
What child or cat would fancy that?

That's a very cute poem.
Lovely. I prefer human pillows :)
Granny Mounds. LOL! Priceless! I can fancy that!
When I was a young mother and very underweight, my mom used to pose the same question, but my kids seemed to love laying on or next to me, no matter than it was often bone on bone. Now that I am heavier, the grandbabies love it even more!
I can still remember the smell of my gramma's slightly starched dresses from laying my head down on her chest. It's really quite a comfort thing! Thanks for bringing this memory around.
Granny! Just want to tell you I love your poems... You should publish a book of your stories and verse, Alaskan Gran!
That is wonderful J. I'm really enjoying your poetry.
I can just imagine you with a lap full of small animals & children.
...you are lucky to have so many of each. That's a sweet poem.
Fun poem and so true
