Julie's Mood Ring

My friend Harold sent me this e-mail joke:
My husband gave me a mood ring the other day so he would be able to monitor my moods...
We've discovered that when I'm in a good mood, it
turns green. When I'm in a bad mood, it leaves a big red mark on his forehead.
Maybe next time he'll think and buy me a diamond!

It reminded me of the time when Julie was nine or ten years old and bought a mood ring. Every half hour or so she would look at it and declare, "It's blue, I must be happy" or whatever color and mood it was. One day my friend David was over changing the oil in my car and Julie was doing this and we started to giggle. Julie was incensed, but her ring wouldn't turn black to prove that she was angry. Which made us giggle all the more and her get more incensed and still the ring said that she was feeling some other emotion. That's when she decided that the ring didn't know as much about her feelings as she did.

I had a mood ring, too. It kept turning black, although I thought I was happy. Wonder if it knew something I didn't?

If there's one thing Julie hates it's when someone close to her laughs at her. But, that's a pretty funny story...

The craziest thing about the mood ring craze was that we all bought them!

Good story. I bought my daughter a mood ring when they were popular, but it was always black. She wore it for a day and decided that it must be defective or she was not a person anyone wanted to be around.

I had a mood bracelet. It was hawked by Jeanne somebody, who was a semi-famous psychic back in the 70's-80's. She came to our city and sold them in a department store, and I stupidly bought one.....LOL
