Honest, folks, the dog is just fine. The wolf, called Romeo, hangs out at the Mendenhall Glacier and plays with people and pet dogs. He doesn't have a pack, and yet he is a social animal.
He had just carried the pug around in his mouth, and then let him go. I'm not sure that the pup was certain it was a game or if he just had enough sense not to do anything startling with a wolf, but he seems to be playing dead.
It is really fun to live here. We have the niftiest wildlife.

How neat is that! But I think I wuld play dead too.
Yes, you do have the nuttiest wildlife and I love that you share it with us. What fun!
That is amazing. Nature is grand indeed.
A Pug, did you say pug?! Amazing and crazy that it was a PUG!
Yes, it was indeed a pug.
Actually, that Romeo plays with dogs is not a good thing, really. He has become so habituated to people and dogs and he is still a wild animal. The concern is that one day a person or a dog will do something that frightens him and he will hurt that playmate and then people will be up in arms to kill him. The wildlife folks have posted signs for visitors to the Glacier to keep their dogs on leashes and to not try to pet Romeo.
It would be sad if he ended up loved to death.
