My Little Sister

Today is my sister Colleen's birthday. Please go to J's blog, Thinking About and read what she has written. I am going to take some time and write more about her and probably post it this evening or tomorrow. In the meantime, there are two details that Julie left out of the story of Colleen saving the woman's life. Colleen was very pregnant at the time. And the person who told me the story was not Colleen, but the loan officer.

I knew it was the loan officer...or, I suspected...I didn't know she was pregnant. I'm guessing this happened before we moved back to CA, since Jenny had been born by then...

I read J's tribute to your sister. She was the person we all should aspire to be. You have the greatest family!

Man, she was a beautiful person in all the ways a person should be. What a covert dynamo. Sorry for the loss of such a sweet soul. You are so lucky to have had such a sister.

J -- not that it was the loan officer it happened to. That it was the loan officer, rather than Colleen, who told me about it. Colleen never mentioned it; it was something she did but not something she bragged about.

Yes, it did happen while we were in Fairbanks.

I know mom...I knew what you meant. I didn't know before, but I did suspect that Aunt Colleen hadn't mentioned it before. I think she would have told us about it if we had been in CA, as a story, and how mad she was at Alan for not doing anything...but not as bragging, because I don't think it would have occurred to her.
