On the 231st anniversary of the passage by Congress of Richard Henry Lee's Resolution, which had been written by Thomas Jefferson as the Declaration of Independence? This is the day Bush chose to issue a press release that he has commuted Scooter Libby's sentence?The weekend that we celebrate the declaration by our founders that they were separating their fortunes from the tyranny of England. That they were creating a new nation, founded in the belief that all men are created equal, with none above the law. This is the day that he chose?
The act doesn't surprise us. And, the fact that he issued the press release in the middle of this very long Independence Day weekend is really to be expected. But, somehow, the choice of this particular day?
Do you suppose that he knows what he's doing? Or is it some dark force with a cruel sense of humor that fixes it so that he is always pissing in the chalice?

Ah, but Maya's Granny, to people like Bush, laws and taxes are only for the little people, the ones without money or connections. For "good men" like Scooter, the laws need not apply. After all, Bush and his crew have never been held accountable for anything. I'm making a t-shirt to wear tomorrow for the 4th: Worst. President. Ever.
