Saturday is moving day! MG will be moving from the assisted care facility in Anchorage to her dear friend's house in Sacramento, CA. She'll be staying there for awhile, until she's up and around enough, at which point the plan is for her to stay with my Grandma and my Great Aunt in Stockton. MG loves Sacramento and Stockton, except for the heat and the fact that they're not as pretty as Juneau (few places are, to be fair).
She'll have a laptop (another gift from Richard!) in Sac, so she'll be able to post more then. I'm thinking you may not hear from her until she's been settled a few days, though. At this point, she's still not sleeping much, only an hour or two a night, and so the work she has to do during the daytime is wearing her out. Hopefully that will be figured out soon. Sigh.
We're all looking forward to the end of this phase of recovery, looking forward to the next phase, which will of course have its own challenges to be met. One day at a time, as they say.
Thanks again to everyone for your devoted and continued support. It has meant a lot to me, and to Maya's Granny, and to Richard as well, even though he's not much involved in the bloggy world.

Thanks for the update, J! I'm glad MG will be here in CA real soon. I know it will be a relief for you to have her closer. And I know she'll be happy to have more regular visits with you and Maya.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for a smooth move and easy settling in. Thanks for the update info, JJ!
MG's going to CALIFORNIA!!! YAY!!! Tell her millions of people want to move to california. Oh I can't wait to hear more about MG!! Good luck with the move!
Thanks again for the update. Two things I know MG will enjoy in CA will be the nearness to you and Maya, and the fresh produce!
Yay! Super! Excellent news, and sooner than it was sounding like for a while there.
I'm glad she's finally able to move. She doesn't want to leave Alaska, of course, but she seems to have a positive outlook about it. I'll be looking forward to future posts from her.
This is a big step coming up for MG, and I hope it works out well for her.
Hope the move goes very smoothly :)
Hi from Christina in Juneau. Excellent news. It will be a long day traveling, but will be better once you are there. Hi from Harold too.
Yay! Yay! Yay! YAY!!!!!!!!!! Here's to an easy move and lots of healing days!!!!!
Going great guns. Bon voyage, MG.
I guess one of the things your mom will have to seek out is a sleep specialist if she's only sleeping a couple hours a night.
Here is a toast to your mom that the journey be smooth and uneventful. Hopefully, the trip down south will be a transformation from winter to spring. It's got to be rough though, and I wish her all the very best. Gosh, what a strain; one or two hours of sleep! No one can exists on that little.
Good wishes to MG as she completes her in-house therapy and moves to CA. Wonder if they'll have her doing outpatient rehab or in-home, or will she have graduated without needing more therapy? Whatever, will be thinking of her and sending good vibes her way and to the family from So. Cal.
Oh, I so hope all goes well, and that MG is back with us again soon.
If you are seeing this MG, we over here at Casa Gina wish you all the best!
j, robert are so excited by the good news. Safe traveling. We'll see in caifornia in the not to distant future! Fran
I'll keep checking in and can't wait until MG can regale and inform us all again with her wonderful blog entries.
Tell Richard...you don't have to be involved in the blogging world to feel the love.
Thanks for the update Julie....you are a beautiful wonder to have kept on top of all of this and still managed to report back to us all the time. You're right....it's all baby steps....even if your mom feels impatient at times; and I'm sure she will have those times. Much love to you all....
May your move be a smooth one, MG!
Change can be stressful, but also it can open many new doors. At least MG will now have access to lots of fresh fruit and vegetables no matter the season. I hope the move goes without a hitch!
