Heroes

Yesterday I posted on why I'm not a Clinton supporter. And today I'm posting Kucinich's platform, so that you will understand why I'm solidly in his camp.

Meanwhile, Viggo Mortensen, angered by Dennis Kucinich's exclusion from the last New Hampshire debate, has flown out to New Hampshire to campaign for and with him. When he appeared on Hannity & Colmes, Hannity had the bad fortune to tell him, "I'm going to forgive your politics."
Answered our hero, "You don't have to. I'm not going to forgive you yours."

Kucinich’s platform:
* Creating a single-payer system of universal health care that provides full coverage for all Americans by passage of the United States National Health Insurance Act.
* The immediate, phased withdrawal of all U.S. forces from Iraq; replacing them with an international security force.
* Guaranteed quality education for all; including free pre-kindergarten and college for all who want it.
* Immediate withdrawal from the World Trade Organization (WTO) and North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
* Repealing the USA PATRIOT Act.
* Fostering a world of international cooperation.
* Abolishing the death penalty.
* Environmental renewal and clean energy.
* Preventing the privatization of social security.
* Providing full social security benefits at age 65.
* Creating a cabinet-level “Department of Peace”
* Ratifying the ABM Treaty and the Kyoto Protocol.
* Introducing reforms to bring about instant-runoff voting.
* Protecting a woman’s right to choose while decreasing the number of abortions performed in the U.S.
* Ending the War on Drugs.
* Legalizing same-sex marriage.
* Creating a balance between workers and corporations.
* Ending the H-1B and L-1 visa Programs
* Restoring rural communities and family farms.
* Strengthening gun control.

I hear what you're saying and there is a lot to agree with there, but how much of it could he really get passed through Congress and signed into law?
That was a perfect response to Hannity!

You have to listen to the Daily Mayo podcast on the bbc today! Simon Mayo interviews the wife of your favourite candidate. She speaks so well and with such passion about his politics.

Viggo - wow! I had no idea he was so rude and self-righteous. (I still love Aragorn, though.)

I don't really agree with Kucinich on everything but I think he's a good man. Being a good man though doesn't make someone capable of being a leader who can change things. Our country is so divided that I am not sure how we'd change things if we got someone in there capable as we basically are like two totally different paths-- with people like me in the middle on some things and left or right on others. Some say that's wishy washy but I say it's having my own opinion and not following any one party line. I like Viggo btw :)

Clinton and Obama are corporatists. They do not nor will not represent the people at large. Kucinich is the best Democratic candidate, however, I am hearing, and I do not doubt, that there may have been some fraud going on at the NH primaries.
